● Strategic product leadership: Define product roadmap, setting the right priorities to develop a novel medical product, integrate KPI driven checkpoints to monitor progress towards milestones, align technical development with user needs and regulatory requirements, manage supply chain and product life-cycle, align cross-functional teams. Steer customer-centric design through operational execution;
● Bridge technical development and market-ready product specification: Lead the development from research into specifications for manufacturing taking stake-holder requirements into account. Collaborate with highly cross-functional teams. Combine lean/agile development cycles with regulatory standards;
● Product management: Work closely with management, researchers, and engineering teams to create testable work instructions in collaboration with external manufacturers keeping an eye on process improvements;
● Partner collaboration: Work closely with external service providers, suppliers, investors and manufacturing partners to facilitate product realization, partner and KOL management;
● Regulatory compliance: Ensure the product meets medical device regulations (ISO 13485, 9001, 60825, etc.) and quality standards.
● Education: Ideally a MINT background;
● Experience: 5-15 years in product development/management, ideally for medical devices (or similar technical devices in a regulated environment), while having helped transition from research to final product facilitating operational product strategy;
● Technical skills: Understand technical language and thinking paradigms. Familiarity with regulatory processes for medical devices;
● Soft skills: Strong communication, leadership, and solution-oriented mindset. Being able to solve conflicts between different mindsets or technical perspectives to bend different perspectives towards a mutual goal. Passion for innovation in healthcare;
● Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
● Advanced degree or an MBA;
● Fluency in German.
